About Victoria Kalobius

Growing up under Disney and Cartoon Network, I became very influenced by animated movies and TV shows. Movies and shows such as The Lion King, Brave, Gravity Falls, Adventure Time, Steven Universe, etc., ignited my passion for art, and it wasn’t long before I began to bring my ideas to life through drawing. Over the years, I filled countless sketchbooks with concepts and characters. It wasn’t until high school, however, that my art began to truly evolve. I dedicated two years during high school to taking AP Studio Art.

During this time, my style became a unique blend of realism and cartoon-like features. I incorporate real-life anatomical proportions into my characters, while simplifying and exaggerating their facial expressions in a way that recalls the charm of animated characters. This fusion of realistic anatomy, cartoon-style faces, dynamic poses, and realistic lighting became the foundation of my art.

I then pursued and received a BFA in 2D Animation at the Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design (RMCAD) from 2021 to 2025. The opportunity to create art professionally is a dream I have worked hard toward. Through animation, I hope to tell stories that reflect important aspects of my identity—such as my experiences with mental illness and being a biromantic female—while also exploring diverse perspectives and fostering greater understanding.

Now, as a digital illustrator, storyboard artist, and animator, my work brings characters and stories to life through detailed designs and dynamic visuals. I am proficient in a variety of tools, including Clip Studio Paint and Premiere Pro, which allow me to combine my artistic vision with the technical expertise required to create compelling visual stories. I aspire to create animations that not only entertain but also spark important conversations and inspire future generations, just as the animated works of my youth inspired me.
